From Logic to Warmth: How Dandust Studio Began
The Beginning
My mother has always been a creative woman. When I was little, almost everything I wore, such as sweaters, hats, and socks, was handmade by her. Even many things in our home were crafted with her hands. She loved crocheting and painting, and our home was filled with colors and warmth.
Growing up in that atmosphere, I naturally fell in love with making things by hand. I did not know back then that these gentle memories would one day guide me back to myself.
A New Direction
As I grew older, I chose a more practical path and studied engineering. For many years, creativity and structure seemed to belong to two separate parts of my life.
Moving to Canada gave me the space to reconsider what I truly wanted to build. In a new environment, the desire to pursue something I genuinely loved became stronger. I did not want creativity to remain a distant interest. I wanted to give it a real place in my life and see how far I could take it.
When I returned to making, I also began to understand that my engineering background had never been separate from my creative work. It had taught me how to think systematically, build frameworks, map out ideas, solve structural problems, and refine a concept step by step. It also shaped my exacting approach to quality, consistency, and material standards.
What once seemed like two different paths gradually became one. Engineering gave structure to my creativity, while handcrafting gave that structure meaning.
The Spark Returns
I began building Dandust Studio with that balance in mind. I developed the brand, designed its visual identity, joined local markets, and started turning scattered ideas into collections, material studies, and complete design systems.
My work is primarily shaped through Czech glass, freshwater pearls, and natural stones. I am drawn to these materials not only for their colors and textures, but also for the sense of time they carry.
Czech glass reflects generations of glassmaking tradition, with forms and finishes often inspired by leaves, flowers, seeds, and other natural details. Pearls are slowly formed within living organisms, while natural stones are shaped over immense periods beneath the earth. Each material holds traces of transformation, craftsmanship, and time.
Through them, I explore a softer interpretation of vintage design. I want vintage influences to feel lighter and more wearable, without losing their depth. At the same time, I want elegance to feel warm, tactile, and connected to history rather than polished but distant.
Nature is often the starting point of my designs, while time is the language carried by the materials. Together, they allow each piece to feel gentle and contemporary, yet quietly rooted in something older.
Now and Beyond
Dandust Studio is more than a jewelry brand to me. It is where creativity, structure, memory, and material come together.
Each collection is an ongoing study of color, texture, balance, and atmosphere. Some pieces are soft and understated, while others are richer and more expressive, but they are all connected by the same intention: to create jewelry that feels distinctive without being overwhelming, and meaningful without becoming overly symbolic.
I am still refining this design language, learning from materials, and discovering new ways to translate natural forms and a sense of time into wearable objects.
